Terms

Reading a page does not create a contract, a professional relationship, or a promise that a description matches the reader’s stock, nest, or machine. The reader is responsible for the decision at the cutter.

What you are reading

The articles explain kerf, yield, and material loss for the stocks and processes the publication covers. They are written for a general reader. They are not a machine manual, not a nesting file, and not instructions for operating a cutter.

Where an article names a width, a yield, or a setting, that figure applies only to the stock, the process, and the source described in the article. Using a number outside those facts is outside what the article says.

The writing

The articles are original writing by the Editorial Team. A reader may link to a page. A reader may quote a short passage with credit and a link to the original URL. Copying a whole article, or republishing the guides as their own, is not allowed.

A Creative Commons credit on a picture is not a licence to lift the article around it. If a caption names a creator and a source, that credit has to stay with the picture when the licence requires it.

Links and advertisements

A link to another site is there so a reader can check a source or an opt-out page. The publication does not control that site.

When an advertisement is shown, the ad is provided by the advertising vendor, not written by the editorial team. An ad is not an endorsement. Policy pages do not carry ads. The Privacy page explains the cookies that can come with an advertisement.

Changes

If these terms change, the updated text will be published at this URL. The current text is the one on this address.

Contact

Questions about these terms go to [email protected]. Include the page address. That mailbox is not an emergency channel.

Using the site

Readers do not register. There is no public profile and no comment thread. The reader may not break the site or probe it for other people’s information.

Copying the archive to present the guides as another publication is not allowed. Linking to a single guide, or quoting a short passage with the URL, is the use these terms allow.
